Led a multi-disciplined, matrixed team—from Concept, to Market Strategy, to Product Release, to Deal Closure—for a new industry exchange serving the telecom and utility industries.  Negotiated and closed product deal at board level and interacted with senior executives from a  customer list that included AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, EchoStar, Southern Company, Scanna, and Direct TV.  Coordinated 20 FTE’s and worked seamlessly across all facets of the organization: including sales, finance, IT, and marketing.  Vigorously evangelized products internally and externally to build awareness and increase sales.  Transitioned from Equifax due to massive layoffs in September 2008.

·         Spearheaded product development for telecom & utilities credit market exchange database and negotiated $35 million contract with the National Consumer Telecommunications and Utilities Exchange (NCTUE)

Led team that managed for product life cycle for Proventia M Series integrated security appliance.  Released 3 models and 4 content security modules:  Intrusion Prevention, Antivirus, Antispam, and Web Filter, in less than 6 months.  Developed comprehensive strategy based on key market indicators and opportunities.  Created and delivered worldwide product marketing, including an international road show to promote the product line.  Performed internal and channel solutions based sales training.  Negotiated contracts and developed partnerships, including a multi-million dollar agreement with NCR.  Presented to leading global companies, including:  Colgate, Motorola, AT&T, Walgreens, US Treasury, Foreign Governments, and the IRS.  Developed revenue recognition models in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.  Briefed industry and financial analysts.  Transitioned from ISS due to company financial issues, ISS was later acquired by IBM.

Directed strategic and operational support for the Intrusion Detection, Vulnerability, Virus Detection product sets to achieve North America sales goals.  Multiplied sales effectiveness in role as subject matter expert on sales teams for strategic customer accounts.  Developed and delivered sales training for Symantec and partner sales teams.  Collaborated with product management teams to ensure new product versions met customer needs.  Customers included: Aetna, Bank of America, Disney, Federal Reserve, Proctor and Gamble, Sony, US Navy, Wells Fargo, and Dow Chemical.  Transitioned due to organizational changes.

·         Overachieved Antivirus (AV) sales quota of $250 million by 116% by driving messaging, training, and sales

·         Reinvigorated product training and effectiveness by delivering solution based selling approach, which debuted at the Symantec Worldwide Sales Conference

·         Initiated AV amnesty marketing program which delivered an incremental $18 million in bookings over 2 quarters

·         Coined the term “Blended Threats” that is now used industry wide

Co-founded VAR that performed specialized security, IT, business process analysis, disaster recovery, and telephony consulting and systems integration.  Delivered value added solutions with leading edge technology to global clients, including GTE, UPS, Ciba-Vision, Holiday Inn, Gray Line Tours, Equitable, and Sun Trust Bank.  Recruited and led highly skilled staff of 35 FTE’s.  Dissolved company due increased staff retention costs during dot.com industry peak.
